Flourish.Banner.Frame my new art resource book.
My third design resource book Flourish. Banner. Frame is an exhaustive archive of ornaments, borders, banners, flourishes, frames etc. I spent over a year developing all the designs in the book. Originally I was contracted to create 300 pieces of art but when it was said and done I created a total of 615 pieces of artwork.
Like my other two books Crumble.Crackle.Burn and Drip.Dot.Swirl, this book will feature profiles of ten of our industries top creative talents showing how you can utilize the art in this book for your own creative pursuits.
The new book is due to hit shelves in August 2011.
An assortment of motifs from the book.
Each unique motif in the book was hand drawn and precision built in vector format in a diverse range of styles and formats such as frames, graphic rings, ornaments, flourishes, and border treatments.
Graphic ring designs from the book.
The book will offer endless graphic possibilities for designers. You’ll be able to combine motifs and or use parts of a motif to design and enhance your own creative projects.
FREE sample sheet download.
You can download a sample sheet containing four motifs (not included in the book) and take them for a test drive in your next creative project. Download sample sheet here.
The below video shows the creation of one of the books ornament designs.

So you reference the book as Border.Banner.Frame. but the Image is Flourish. Banner. Frame. Just wondering which it was? BBF seems to roll off the tongue better, but I like the look of FBF on the actual cover.
Like the new blog look. Nice.
I can’t wait to get my hands on this book. I have your previous two resource books and they have come in handy quite a few times. I look forward to ingenious work to put this book to test! Oh and in reference to the above post, it could have been BFF! Every designer’s “BFF”!

Hi Von,
I finally visited your new blog and I have to say that I love every little videopiece that you provide and this book looks really wonderful. Your eye for detail is really inspiring.
After watching that video yesterday I started doing a ornamental bull. It’s damn hard work but it’s worth. I noticed how important the whitespace is, espacially on stuff like your tribal tatoos. I need a lot of practice on that.
So, keep blogging! It’s always inspiring and fun to take a look at your posts.
Best regards from germany.
