Linear line set of faces.
Drawing continuous line artwork is a lot of fun. I approached Tuts+ Premium and suggested they hire me to create a set of stock linear line illustrations for members of Tuts+ Premium. They agreed.
I thought a whole set of faces would be a nice pedestrian theme that a lot of people could use for a variety of project types.

Phoenix Tattoo Design.
When I work on most projects I come up with more ideas than I need. The client usually isolates one direction and we refine it and deliver the final design. That said many of the other ideas are ones I like and I try to archive them and use them if and when the opportunity arises.
This Phoenix design was a concept I presented to a client who hired me to design a custom tattoo he was going to get done on his back. My client decided to go with another design I had presented instead.
I liked this design so I decided to go ahead and finish it as if it had been chosen.
Political Icon Set
Democrats -vs- Republicans.
Over 300 million people inhabit the United States of America. So to think you could simply bake down that kind of diverse melting pot into two distinct political mind sets be it Democrat or Republican is kind of ridiculous.
That said our government is controlled by a two party system. Or maybe a better term would be a two party system error? In any regard whether you’re a stubborn jack ass, or a bloated pachyderm all you tend to get is an endless agenda oriented ping pong match of issues that never seem to be truly resolved.
I think Albert Einstein said it best when he quipped:
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Whether or not Albert had that context in mind I’m not sure? But it does seem to define the two party system pretty accurately I think.
Every four years for the election cycle publications big and small re-use the same old political icons in their print material and websites. Some are good but far too many of them are just down right ugly. And even though I may not be able to do much to stop the infinite loop of lunacy in DC, I can help graphically. So I decided to create my own stock political icon set.
